Proud to be Founding Members of The Trinity Challenge

The Trinity Challenge is a coalition of members united by the common aim of using data and advanced analytics to develop insights and actions to contribute to a world better protected from health emergencies. Our Founding Members explain why they are proud to play their part in ensuring the disruption and destruction to livelihoods caused by global health emergencies, never happens again.

“COVID-19 is both a health crisis and an information crisis. We are proud to be founding members of the Trinity Challenge. Provision of, and access to, accurate and trustworthy information is a key to addressing any pandemic -- and our goal is to ensure those most affected by such crises have a seat at the table in devising solutions.” – Jodie Ginsberg, CEO, Internews Europe

“The experiences of COVID-19 have shown us how pandemics do not respect borders. None of us is safe until we are all safe. By sharing cutting-edge data and analytics from around the world, we will be in a much stronger position to prevent health emergencies from happening, and better manage their impact if they do happen. By working together – across academia, businesses and the social sector - we can achieve more, more quickly and to the benefit of all of us.” – Dame Minouche Shafik, Director, LSE

“Whilst still in the midst of this pandemic, we are learning from the data and advanced analytics to find solutions for possible future global health emergencies. The Trinity Challenge will help us combine data analytics and collective insights from across sectors to ensure that we are prepared for the epidemics, pandemics and global health emergencies of the future." – Professor Alice Gast, President, Imperial College London

“Despite extraordinary advances in sciences and unprecedented improvements in global health over the past century the ongoing COVID19 pandemic underscores our collective vulnerability to the emergence of a highly contagious and lethal microbial threat.   As we move further into the 21st century we will continue to be plagued by new and highly dangerous viral pathogens. It is  clear that if we are to avoid future COVID19-events we cannot continue to do as we have done in the past. The Trinity Challenge is a call to action that challenges us think differently and act differently. We at the Global Virome Project are enthusiastic about the opportunity the Trinity Challenge has created to forge new partners, stimulate novel ideas and generate fresh energy so that we can collectively address the challenges posed by the COVID19 pandemic while also better preparing the world to address all the threats to come.” – Global Virome Project
