The Trinity Challenge launches a Youth Summit focused on Educating for Behaviour Change

Young changemakers invited to design behaviour change campaigns tackling antimicrobial resistance across human, animal and environmental health

13th August 2025 – The Trinity Challenge is proud to announce the launch of its third Youth Summit and Funding Competition, calling on young people worldwide to bring bold ideas and innovative campaigns to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR.) This summit and competition aims to empower young people, activists and AMR experts to address the behaviours that fuel antibiotic misuse across human, animal, and environmental health. The Youth Summit will explore six campaign themes, all aligned with One Health principles:

• Livestock animals
• Companion animals
• Environment
• Food chain
• Language
• Community health

“Young people are not just future leaders in health—they are already leading change today,” said Dame Sally Davies, Chair and Founder of the Trinity Challenge. “The behaviours that drive AMR are happening in our homes, schools, markets, farms, and clinics. That’s why we’re engaging and supporting young people, who understand their communities and know how to inspire change from within.”

The Trinity Challenge (TTC) is a charity supporting the creation of data-driven solutions to help protect against global health threats. The Trinity Challenge was launched in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted a global need to be better prepared to tackle healthcare emergencies. The inaugural 2021 Challenge on pandemic preparedness received applications from 340 teams across 60 countries and distributed a prize fund of £5.7 million across eight winning initiatives.

In 2024, the second Trinity Challenge awarded a total of £2.7 million across four winning teams for its competition on tackling the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
